We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we do not consider ourselves required to appoint one under Article 37 of the GDPR.

2. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how The8edge OÜ processes personal data when you visit the8edge.com or contact us through the website.

It does not cover personal data that we process on behalf of a client during a client engagement. Where we access a client's systems as part of a Complexity Review, integration project, or other engagement, the processing of personal data is governed by the relevant contractual arrangements agreed with that client.

3. What the website does not do

We aim to keep the website simple and privacy-conscious.

The website:

• does not use cookies;
• does not contain website forms through which information is submitted to us;
• does not use advertising or tracking pixels;
• does not use cross-site tracking;
• does not store the figures entered into the Complexity Review cost calculator;
• runs the Complexity Review cost calculator entirely in your browser; and
• serves its fonts from our own domain, so your browser does not contact an external font provider for fonts.

The figures you enter into the cost calculator are not transmitted to us or stored by the website.

4. Information processed when you visit the website

4.1 Hosting and website delivery

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages.

When you visit the website, Cloudflare may receive technical information associated with your request, such as your IP address, browser type and version, the page requested, and the time of the request. This information is used to deliver the website and help protect it against abuse and security threats.

Cloudflare processes this information in connection with providing its services to us. Further information about Cloudflare's processing is available in its privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

4.2 Web analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, including which pages are viewed and how the website performs.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to operate without cookies and without storing information on your device for analytics purposes. It does not provide us with cross-site behavioural tracking.

Legal basis: We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding website usage and improving the website, subject to the applicable requirements of EU data-protection and electronic-communications law.

4.3 Email address protection

Cloudflare email address obfuscation is enabled on the website. This feature encodes email addresses displayed on the site to make them less accessible to automated harvesting systems.

5. When you contact us

5.1 By email

If you email contact@the8edge.com, we receive the email address associated with your message, your name if you provide it, and the information contained in your message.

We use Google Workspace for email. Google processes email data on our behalf in connection with providing the service, under the terms at https://workspace.google.com/terms/dpa_terms.html.

We process correspondence:

• to respond to your enquiry and communicate with you; and
• where your enquiry concerns a potential engagement, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Legal basis: Depending on the circumstances, this processing is based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Retention: We retain business correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking into account any potential engagement, contractual obligations, accounting requirements, legal obligations, and the need to establish or defend legal claims.

Where a specific retention period is required by applicable law, we retain the relevant information for that period.

5.2 By booking a call

The booking buttons on the website link to Calendly, a third-party scheduling service.

Calendly does not load on the website merely because you visit it. If you choose to book a call, you are taken to Calendly and provide information directly to Calendly, such as your name, email address, and selected meeting time.

Calendly processes that information under its own privacy policy at https://calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice. We receive the booking details necessary to arrange and hold the meeting and to communicate with you about it.

The processing of booking information is based, depending on the circumstances, on our legitimate interest in managing business enquiries or on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

6. Links to other websites

The website may contain links to external websites, including LinkedIn.

When you follow an external link, you leave the8edge.com and are subject to the privacy policy and terms of the relevant third party. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.

7. International data transfers

Some of our service providers, including Cloudflare, Google and Calendly, are established in or may process personal data in countries outside the European Economic Area.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or Standard Contractual Clauses and any required supplementary measures.
